Pinoy Tasker Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 2025
- Pinoy Tasker ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your choices. We follow the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and its rules.
By using the Pinoy Tasker app or website (the "Services"), you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms.
1) What we collect
- We only collect what we need to run a safe and trusted marketplace.
- - Account details – name, email, mobile number, city, profile photo.
- - Profile info – skills, rates, portfolio, ratings/reviews.
- - Verification for safety – Philippine National ID and NBI Clearance (to join and help keep the community safe).
- We do not show your ID numbers or ID images to other users.
- - Activity – tasks you post or apply for, offers, messages, and feedback; support requests and dispute records if any.
- - Payments – basic payment references (e.g., transaction numbers) for receipts and support.
- We do not store your payment credentials. Payments are handled and secured by GCash (powered by PayMongo).
- - Device & app basics – simple logs like device type, app version, and crash/usage info to fix bugs and improve the app.
- - Location – we do not keep or track your location. If you add a location to a task (e.g., an address/meeting spot), we use it only for that task and not for tracking.
2) Why we collect it
- - To create and manage your account.
- - To help Posters and Taskers find and work with each other.
- - To verify users for safety and prevent fraud or abuse.
- - To process payments, fees, refunds (via GCash/PayMongo).
- - To improve the app and provide customer support.
- - To send essential service updates; marketing only if you agree.
3) Who can use Pinoy Tasker
- For safety, only verified users (with National ID and NBI Clearance) can use the app.
4) Who sees your information
- Inside Pinoy Tasker (verified users only): Verified users can see the profile and task details needed to do the job—name or display name, photo, skills, rates, portfolio, ratings/reviews, task listings, and task-related chat.
- We never show your ID numbers or ID images.
- No public browsing / no open web: Your personal information is not published outside Pinoy Tasker and is not available to the general public. We don't sell your data.
- We don't keep or track your location: We do not continuously track or store your location. If you share a location for a task, it's used only for that task and not kept for tracking.
- Trusted service partners: We work with a few trusted providers (for example, PayMongo/GCash for payments, secure hosting, maps, notifications, email/SMS). They only use your data to help us run the app and must protect it.
- When required by law: We may share information if a valid legal request is made, or to protect safety and our rights.
- If our business changes: If we merge or sell the business, your data may transfer under the same protections.
- Reminder: We do not store your payment credentials—PayMongo handles and secures them when you pay via GCash.
5) Your choices and rights
- See & update your info:
- You can view and edit your account details anytime.
- Deactivate or close your account:
- You can request deactivation at any time. We'll honor your request as long as there's no unresolved issue that involves another user or the platform—for example: an active task or booking, a pending payment/refund/chargeback, an open dispute, or an ongoing safety/fraud review. Once any open matters are resolved, we'll proceed with deactivation/closure. After deactivation, your profile won't be visible and you won't be able to post/accept tasks or message. We may keep limited records if required by law (e.g., receipts, tax/audit, fraud prevention).
- Delete your account (permanent deletion):
- Pinoy Tasker gives you full control to permanently delete your account and associated data.
- - Inside the app: Go to Account → Settings → Delete Account to initiate deletion.
- - On the web: You may also visit our secure account deletion page at http://www.pinoytasker.tech/page.php?page=request-delete
- When you confirm deletion, your account will be permanently marked inactive, your personal data will be removed from active use, and you will no longer be able to log in. We may retain limited records where required by law (for example, receipts, tax/audit records, fraud prevention, or dispute logs).
- Delete certain data:
- You may ask us to delete information we don't need to keep by law or for legitimate business reasons (like preventing fraud or keeping transaction records).
- Location settings:
- You can choose whether to add a location to a task; we don't track your location.
- Marketing choices:
- You can opt out of marketing anytime (we'll still send important service or security messages).

6) How we protect your information
- We use reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect your data (for example, limiting access and encrypting data in transit). No method is perfect—please keep your password and device secure.
7) How long we keep information
- We keep personal data only as long as needed for the reasons in this policy and as required by Philippine law (e.g., tax/audit, anti-fraud, dispute records). When no longer needed, we delete, de-identify, or safely archive it.
8) Children
- Pinoy Tasker is for 18+ only. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9) Changes to this policy
- We may update this policy as the app or laws change. We'll post the new date at the top and, if the changes are important, we'll notify you in the app or by email.
